Participants received hands-on training for the operation and maintenance of Water ATMs, enhancing their technical skills for sustainable water resource management.
NIWAD launched the Sankari Village Development Project 2025-2026 with a focus on sustainable growth. As part of this, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) sessions, led by our Managing Trustee, Ms. Selva Rani, were conducted in Avarangapalayam on 29/03/2025 and Chettikadu on 01/04/2025. These sessions engaged the community to identify local needs, assess challenges, and prioritize development interventions that ensure long-term, community-led progress. This approach empowers residents to take ownership of their development.
The Annual Planning and Review Meeting was held at NIWAD's headquarters in Salem on 04.04.2025 & 07.04.2025. The event was attended by the staff for strategic discussions, reflection, and capacity building. Sessions were led by the CEO, Managing Trustee, Senior Advisor, and Financial Trustee to strengthen operations and team synergy for future development.
NIWAD has conducted the Bhoomi Pooja to mark the beginning of the renovation of the traditional water body at Kattuvalavu, Vettukadu Patti, under the Sankari Village Development Project – Water Conservation Activity 2025–2026. This ceremony signifies the start of efforts to enhance water storage, promote groundwater recharge, and support local agriculture.
